State Health Secretary Siddhartha Komalsingh Pardeshi, who was earlier informed by Chhattisgarh Pradesh Swasthya Karmachari Sangh (CPSKS) regarding the call of indefinite strike from July 4, called upon the office bearers of the association and discussed over the matter at his office in the state Secretariat on last Monday.
CPSKS Patron OP Sharma, State President Alok Mishra, General Secretary Ashwini Gurdekar, Vice President SP Dewangan, Raipur District President SS Soni and Ajay Panchram comprised the delegation that talked to the secretary.
The delegation tabled its demands that included better pay-scale as was proposed by the health department, regularization of the contractual employees working under National Health Mission as also under the state health department.
The demand list contained many more issues like 13-month payment to the state health department employees in one year, roll-back of the transfer orders issued against rules and regulations to ten medical lab technologists in Bilaspur, immediate stop on recovery of three-four incremental payments already given to staff nurses, creating promotion opportunity for single-post worker, radiation allowance at the rate of 10 percent to radiotherapy staff, only one-shift OPD and Level-6 pay to the vehicle operators holding heavy vehicle driving license.
In another demand, CPSKS stated that 1500 sqft land and financial support for house building be given to all the class three and class four employees.

Regarding easy supply of medicines from Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation, CPSKS demanded that senior pharmacist be made nodal pharmacist at each and every headquarter .
Cancellation of the department order that has placed RMAs over and above the other staff, punishment to those officials against whom CPSKS has complained, and action against those officials who have not given promotions in time, are other demands. It has also been demanded that felicitation letters of the awarded employees be included their service book.
After positive talks on each and every demand, the secretary assured of action at the possible earliest. The secretary talked to Director Jai Prakash Mourya over mobile phone and advised the CPSKS delegation to hold discussion with the director also.
The delegation went to Swasthya Bhawan and apprised the director of its demands and requested for taking initiative in time. The director assured of talks with the secretary on the demands on the very same day.
Later on, CPSKS General Secretary Ashwini Gurdekar and Vice-President SP Dewangan issued a joint press release, stating therein that after the discussions the health employees became optimistic regarding the fulfillment of the demands.
In case the demands are not satisfied in time then the indefinite strike from July 4 is certain and a strong force of as many as fifty-five thousand employees have already consented for participation in the strike.
