Raipur: Under the aegis of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Swasthya Karmachari Sangha¸ the employees of state health department are firm on the indefinite strike call, which the said association has given, stating it would begin on July 4.
The association has observed that the state government has not fulfilled the genuine demands of the employees even after continued deliberations and pursuance.Listing some of the demands, the association has informed the media that improvement in pay-scale is the first and foremost. Of no less importance is the matter of regularization of service. It is Congress word of promise that the employees, who are working on contractual basis under the National Health Mission, state health department, Daily Wage Earners, and also such employees who are under Jeevandeep Samitis, DMF, and outsourced employees , will be regularized.
Another demand is 13-month payment to state health department employees in a year, alike the payment of police department. The demand list contains as many as 24 points, covering employees of different cadres including staff nurses. The decision of two-shift OPD services in state government hospitals is also being opposed by Chhattisgarh Pradesh Swasthya Karmachari Sangh, clearly stating that the employees can do their duties in one shift only.

The association has apprised the state Chief Minister, Health Minister, and all the other concerned authorities of the strike call. Series of meetings are being convened at the head office of the association located at the Arjun Nagar locality in the state capital. The association comprises of different cadres of health employees and every cadre is represented at the state and district level. The head of every cadre and association state level office bearers including founder and forerunner Shri OP Sharma, present state President Shri Alok Mishra, General Secretary, Ashwini Gurdekar, Vice-President SP Dewangan are daily sitting across the table. Each cadre is expressing its support through its leader. As a result of the strike the services in every hospital of the state government will be paralyzed.
