** State Government Indifferent. “Health Services will be totally paralyzed,” warns CPSKS.

Under the banner of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Swasthya Karmachari Sangh (CPSKS), all-cadre employees of the state health department continued their indefinite strike for the second day on Wednesday all over the state.

Round about 1000 employees led by the CPSKS state level office bearers including Patron OP Sharma, State President Alok Mishra, Working President Pradeep Bogie, General Secretary Ashwini Gurdekar, Employees-Officers Federation Convenor Anil Shukla, Vice President SP Dewangan, Raipur District President SS Soni and several other office bearers of the association assembled at Tuta, Naya Raipur, where during the dharna that continued from 11 am to 3 pm the office bearers addressed the employees and encouraged them to raise their voice for fulfilment of the 24-point demands, which when fulfilled would make the health services better for the common people of the state.

CPSKS strongly claimed that services in Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, DKS Super Specialty Hospital, Government Dental College, District Hospital, the urban Primary Health Centres, Community Health Centres were adversely affected due to the absence of the on-strike employees for which the association expressed its apology to the visiting patients and their family members through banners. Not only in the state capital Raipur, but in each and every other part of the state the above mentioned types of hospital and also sub-health centres, health and wellness centres registered absence of employees, and the sum and substance of the strike was- health services became lame.

On instructions from CPSKS, the hospital employees working in oxygen supply, water and electricity supply, operation theatres, trauma unit, intensive care units continued their duty. In case the government continues to be indifferent, the strike then will encompass more and more, and paralyze the health services totally, CPSKS warned.

The employees on strike today were addressed by other office bearers who are Tandon, from the wing of irregular employees, Laxmi Pandey, Tinendra Sahu, from DKS Hospital association wing, Rajendra Yadav, from CPSKS, Satish Paseria, LP Banerji, Harishankar Sahu, Santosh Dewangan, Sujit Paul and Imran Mirza Baig.
